Dev Log 3 - Scheduling My Work
I think we've all struggled with time management. Crunching the night before something's due has been pretty common over the last few years in this course. Scheduling can help reduce the time spent crunching on tasks, and I think I've found a method to help myself out in that regard.
My go-to method for scheduling is using a task sidebar on my phone that lets me list and check off tasks. I've come up with a naming convention for these tasks, that goes Class: Assignment Name (Due-Date.) So, for example, one of the tasks in my list at the moment says Level Design: Assignment #2 (Oct 19)." This isn't an ideal system as it's just words in a list, and it doesn't have any visuals to distinguish between which classes given tasks are for, so I'm actively looking for an alternative. The reason I've stuck with this method for so long is the convenience: it's a widget on my phone that I can open up on top of other apps and view my reminders.
If anyone commenting on this has any alternative apps that they use to manage their daily schedules, please share!

I've never considered using a task widget, maybe it's not possible on my phone but that would be a lot better than my current system of using the reminder app which I often forget to open. Checking tasks off a list is definitely a rewarding way of getting work done.
I've tried using checklist sort of apps for managing my work schedule but often I find it still hard to use unless you have a list for each specific thing, like I can't mix personal project deadlines/tasks on the same list with schoolwork or my brain gets scrambled. It seems like it works for you so let me know if you use anything else to help with task tracking outside of school!
Hi Ethan!
That's awesome that you have a task sidebar on your phone. I tried using something like that before and for me, I felt like it was hard to use. I either get distracted by my phone and do something else. I guess I just find my phone to be really distracting. I opted into using a planner and so far it has been helping me a lot!
That's smart to have it all listed on your phone since people always look at it having it right in your face the whole time will definitely help. personally, for me I find it helps much better to rename a task list to a quest log it's a little change that just makes my brain become more motivated.
